So I’m still trying to process everything. I still don’t fully understand what happened. It’s like making a new friend and then they suddenly die.

Green Avenue Books and Publishing has terminated.

She’s okay. Something in her life that happened that created strife that made her decide to quit.  It don’t know the details but it was sudden.  I don’t know if the shop she was creating is still in the works. It was a beautiful dream that just died. Crushed. I’m heartbroken to see it happen.

For my side, I’ve decided to go full boss mode on my books. I most of the files myself to full on self publish under my business.  Just figuring out the how is trickier than I thought and I’m reminded why I went with a self publishing company. It’s a huge leap.  But once I figure it out, I can help others navigate it. I was not give any instructions on how the manage myself.  I’ve only done one half.

My books are ready, it’s just getting them set in Ingram spark that is very technical. The pricing and isbn system is confusing.  It’s going to take a few weeks and there will be a gap between production. Nothing too bad but frustrating. I guess it’s frustrating that there was no warning when she terminated.  I’m not angry just shocked. There were other authors far hit harder than me. Those that were just authors with no retail to fall back on. Seeing that happen, it hurts to see and it’s scary. That anytime something could fall and if you’re not prepared,  you can crash. My heart aches for these authors and I hope they haven’t lost hope and can still move forward.

I did start a Messenger group called Ink Rebels in hopes that if others need to connect they can. One of the managers from Green Avenue is there now.  She wants to become a Publishing company! I’m excited for her.

Working on a better one. This one I was playing with on co-pilot.

With that I move to the update.  I was planning on starting publication in August for my next 2 books – The Crystal Prison’s Vortex of Ambivalent and The Reluctant Spider Queen, but have decided to push that to December. With losing Green Avenue,  I’m having to carry the weight I didn’t before and want to make sure I’m secure with the books I have…also if the manager lady can get her company up and running,  I can work with her with the new books.

I’m not giving up!

Some fun news, I’ve started playing with resin. Mainly chess sets.  It’s so messy! But fun 😁

Going to a few usual events-

Nampa’s Farmers market.   Kuna’s Hometown Fair.  Beltane.  Darkness Con. Starbelly Goddess Festival (they are taking place for the old one, Goddess Festival in Boise)

Sumpter Ren Fair (which is getting a bigger location! Super excited to support them!)

Oh! Not sure if I mentioned this but my ink pen I’ve had seen the beginning, the tip chipped so I sadly had to get a new one but I’m putting the other in a case with this

Someone gave me the idea to do this in a case with pictures around it.

Sorry off topic!

Nampa’s Festival of the Arts,  which I’m doing without the Treasure Valley Authors.  I figured it’s time to start flying on my own and it was fun while it lasted.

Summer Fete.   And I’m not sure Library Con. I haven’t heard from them.  But I will be with Idaho Renaissance Fair.  They are looking for a place where they can be permanent.  It’s a struggle but we are all looking to help them. They are an amazing crew of people.  I love them.

If anyone wants to help them fined a location near the Treasure Valley please contact them

New book is out

The Dark Wood Forest

That’s about it so far. Just plugging along and moving forward.  The divorce is finally and the kids are slowly healing as well as I. I’m saving up for a place as well. Gaining growth and ground for myself.

One step at a time.
