Border Town was so fun! I’ll admit that leaving the state was fun too ( even if most don’t count going to Ontario, Oregon counts, lol) We live so close to the border now it’s epic! Even though it was tiny, I call this a road trip!😂

I haven’t been out of state for a few years so it was kinda exhilarating.

Now for Border Town. It was my first time and I was gauging it. The people, the fans and the coordinators. And I think it was well put together, Saturday was the best time and everyone was very nice. I even got to meet with new art friends! They are from a Discord group called the Rocky Mountain Artists.  What that means for me is that now that the chaos of my life is clearing up, I realize that I really don’t socialize other than at events or work and with family. I don’t really have a social circle really. I’ve been someone who flutters from circle to circle but never could settle with just one. I probably won’t settle for one because that is just my nature. In high school I was the same and I’m grateful that the mess I went through didn’t change much. I’m just now a socially awkward butterfly. I have to relearn to be friends and stuff. I’ve been a person that likes sitting and soaking up the atmosphere but I want to engage with people too.

Anyway, I got to meet artists in the group and chat and it was fun! You know what? I think it’s part of a self-conscious thing. I want to be friendly but I don’t want people to misunderstand it. I’ve come to realize that people can misunderstand my ADHD friendliness. (That can be embarrassing) I worry about making a good impression too. I got to be me but also I can be so weird that it’s frightening 😅

Sorry, off I go on everything. The cosplayers were awesome. Loved it all. Sadly I couldn’t dress as Auwssya but I’m hoping for Gem State Comic con, I can. Got all the parts accept the ears. I did dress up though.

This is one of my favorite hair! I’ve always loved curly hair.

Oh! I got to design a banner for the Treasure Valley Authors Group. For the Fantasy side – The Treasure Valley Fantasy Authors. It was so fun and awesome to see it up.

Here is the banner in the background. Lynx is the banner of my author friend’s book. Merri Halma if you want to check out her books.

This is my table!

I decided with symbols just in case things change it can still be used. The Wyvern – Napping Wyvern – Chris Hollaway

The lizard is Merri Halma – Dreaming Lizard

And then there is me. I didn’t want to be too flashy but noticed. So I made myself a sword with a symbol of a snowflake with the guard and shoulder. I figured that is subtle but made myself known I was here.

I’ll be honest… My personality can be like car lights. Just normal on regular beams but can go to high beams that can out shine everyone. Just blinding and I don’t want to do that and hurt people or scare them. When I’m with a group I want to share that light and spot light. I love sharing my sunshine.(I love that meme, share some of the sunshine, swish ah swish ah!🌞). I can get a bit self-conscious when it comes to that and try to balance myself so we can be together. That is one of the reasons why I went subtle with the symbol I chose. I think I did good 😊

Back to the event. Saturday was busy and I sold 8 books! A couple of mugs, a piece of artwork, a sticker and many charms for the first day as well. Sunday was quieter and I sold 1 book, a mug and a few charms. I call them charms because they are quite keychains. I repurpose jewelry or broken jewelry into these charms. Lots are one of a kind.

This is an old picture but these are some of the charms!

People really like them and it helps me with revenue for my books.

About my books, I guess no reviews are good? A Nightmare’s Point of View has some reviews and I hear on the wind how much people love Shadow Side. I haven’t heard anything bad! So far so good I’m glad. Although I would love to hear or read both. Good or bad. As an artist I’m my worst critic anyway so I don’t mind. Maybe someday I’ll hear them all. I’m excited to hear it some day.

I did pamphlets too and I love how my mugs turned out!

I’ll be selling my mugs at Nampa’s Farmers Market. Not sure about Gem State though. It’s going to be tricky since I’ll be volunteering Saturday. Gem State Comic con is up next for me! Sunday I’ll be vending with the Treasure Valley Fantasy Authors. Chris and Merri will be there both days. I hope Chris will. He wasn’t feeling too good during Border Town.😔

Oh! Chris has a boardgame that will be coming out. They are shooting for Christmas! I’m so excited to see it!❤️

And also I have a book coming out! April 2nd is the release. Almost done with the editing. Just a few images need to be adjusted. I still can’t believe I’m about to have a third book. It is my most ambitious one yet! Quite a glossary.  We are still working on the details for the book launch because I’ve never done one or worked this closely before. Newman Spring Publishing is good but not personable. Just very strictly professional. I only needed the basics since I could do everything else but I was the director of my book and that was it. For Page Publishing, they were a bit more personable. Plus I was a little more experienced now. She understood my fanatic fears and was very prompt with emails and quailing my fears and answering all my questions. With Green Ave books, she is right there in the same state. She is also working on a new business. Juggling a lot. I try not to be fanatic and I am super grateful that she is patient with me. I’m sure with many of my emails there is a big sigh before she responds 😅

Fables and Froth will be opening in a couple of months now and I hope to do a book launch afterwards. Maybe do a book giveaway with some of my merchandise that day. Just thinking about it throws out so many emotions!❤️

Anyway that’s about it 😊 I have spring break and I’m going to catch up with sleep and work 😀
